Tip number two! Video tutorials on youtube, and trying new things out! Experimenting with new art styles and coloring techniques can be super scary since you want to stick to what you like, but I promise that you learn so much more this way. What works, what doesn't work, etc.

They are incredibly good at working with skilled illustrations, I think mostly as contractors though. I imagine it is Sebastien Mitton's doing, as he is known for drawing on classical/traditional techniques and references. See also Piotr Jabłoński's mindblowing work:
