1/6 #OTD 15th March, 1842: Cassandra Jane Knight (Lady George Hill), #JaneAusten’s niece, dies of puerperal fever, age 35 at Gortlee House, Letterkenny, co. Donegal. Cass’s unexpected death, came 3 days after the birth of her 4th child, a baby girl, also called Cassandra.
