I am ALMOST done detailing this big ol' croc rhino shield thing. Visited his skull cast at the museum today and got an idea again of just how massive these things were. Can't wait to print him for my shelf!

That's just the base. Each panel is a separate layer, and over each one, I add texture and then detailing and highlights, like I did on the lower part and the cannon arm of the mecha.
It's a long process, but as you see, it's a very practical way to paint a mechanical object!
