#OnThisDay in 1908, a pickaxe struck the side of a remarkable skull. It was the discovery of the Neanderthal known as the Old Man from La Chapelle, one of the most important specimens in the history of paleoanthropology. https://t.co/zv9FthqNzP #fossils
It seems like during G1 someone at hasbro/takara wanted fossils to be in G1. The first attempt had the fossilized characters using the rock/ice they where encased in as extra armor in robot mode. Here's a mammoth design with its fossil mode, its normal robot and it armored robot.
**ROCKET HIPSTER LUKE wants to battle**
Luke steals fossils from labs/museums and to build a prehistoric army with his less-than-perfect restoration machine. (Inspired, of course by @kianamaiart) 🚀

My 2012 article on the problem caused by David Peters isn't easy to find due to corruption of the SciAm site, so I've been compelled to produce a totally new version. So here's this, new at #TetZoo ... https://t.co/WRYd2JT014 #fossils #evolution #PetersProblem

I was today years old when I learned that these 4 pokemon, who you get by taking fossils and resurrecting them in a certain order, are based on the real practice of paleontologists putting parts of different dinosaurs together to one-up each other in discovering new species.
The Gem Fossil, Galea Fossil, and Tail Fossil. They are the first trio of fossils that can be dug up in the Agrios Region! What prehistoric creatures do you think could be revived from these? #PokemonSwordShield #Pokemon #fakemon #art #pokemongo
