Dawg it actually took me up until today to realize that Ruggie is not white but fair skinned?? Like reaaaally really light but he's not fully white 🤔 Maybe I am seeing things but when you put him side by side with others from the game who are fr white it is noticeable

Being Latino is not a Skin tone matter. But for some americans you can born and live all your life in LATAM but if you're light-skinned, your not latino... Shut up, don't speak for us

I saw a rabbit as slick as a knife and as pale as a candlestick
And I had thought it'd be harder to do but I caught her and skinned her quick, held her there
Kicking and mewling upended unspooling unsung and blue
Told her wherever you go little runaway bunny I will find you

Sylena's got a complete overhaul in design, she's now canonically dark-skinned. 🎉

Because I don't just look at pictures I read the words.

Also Namor has been drawn/colored as non-white/with darker skin over the 80 years of his existence, his solo teen comic has him as a actual brown skinned boy who experienced racial discrimination.

Red Panther/Coerl from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Always thought these guys had a cool design. Somewhere between a skinned heraldic beast and a melted plastic toy from a grocery store vending machine.

I especially struggled with Joe's skin tone, since I had envisioned him to be dark-skinned, yet his outfit was also held in mainly dark grays, so I was afraid his features would just get lost. I feel like I pulled it off though.

The idea of a passing light skinned woman & any-tone/dark skinned man is nothing new & has been a common media trope used for generations. The diversity is there, but a lot of pieces have been removed & remain missing.
