I blame it on bad art direction more than improvement, before the tv show they animated a webseries which had like, actual style to them, executive meddling most likely led to the more generic style

The 1st half of Kyoukai Senki was around a 6/10 to me. The 2nd half though was an improvement music, action & story-wise. I did not need to force myself to watch it like the 1st half.

As long as the final episode ends in a satisfying manner, I'll probably give it a 7/10 overall.
