You can see the same difference between the old Jade Dragon Wukong and the new Jade Dragon Wukong splash arts tbh. The old one is just so much better looking in my opinion, even if the new one my have more advanced rendering.

@Shugar_Candle I tend to like the rendering process more than coloring, but I think it's because I am currently less satisfied with my coloring than shading. :'3 I feel like my rendering really pulls it's weight in my works though for sure.

Just as an example, both these look similar, but I used different approaches. The first is a greyscale to color paiting (about 15 layers), while the other is a multi layers rendering with lineart (50+ layers)-

I LOVE RENDERING FUR WITH COLORED PENCILS. I LOVE THE REPEATED LIL LINES OVERLAPPING AND SLIGHTLY BLENDING. I LOVE THE TEDIOUS TINY MOVEMENTS.
