This was coming along really well until the background.

What I tried was ugly and distracting. I wiped it off (twice) and will use a spoon to see if I can rescue the paper and try again.

But I think it is ruined.

The instruction manual for Mario vs. Donkey Kong included subtle messaging from Nintendo that failing to pre-order their games will lead to a life of crime and cause shirtless diaper-clad vest enthusiasts to sob uncontrollably on the ground.

Great!! I do actually use an indigo wash occasionally to "send" things into the background. .. blue recedes the layers ( is hat the right phrase..whatevs). Usually on big acrylics.
..just realised how long it has been since I did one🙄

To let you sweets know, I do NOT have a Tumgir account. My links are my background. Trying to go to the page it has a ton of pop ups, so not sure how to resolve that or what it may do to my stuff

Morning Coffee! Drawing this piece kind of burnt me out. It’s because it’s the first time I tried drawing an actual background. But it was still fun! This was a drawing request by the way.

Try number 2.
I like the result. This is the best I can do with my current drawing skill. However, stone looks too detailed against a tree background.
I had to remove one color from the palette and it looks more harmonious, I think.
*grass is bad, just for example.

Three items of Meissen porcelain from a tea service with merchant navy scenes in iron red
All items finely painted with detailed harbour scenes within opulent gold and purple lustre cartouches, the saucer with a rare nocturnal landscape with a camp fire in the foreground.
