I've maintained that Jack-O's buttons are kinda already Strive buttons, and I think the absolute best example is this 2S.
Leads to a massive, un-techable launch on counterhit that is almost exactly Strive's combo mechanic.

are you kidding me this freaking combo,the lvl 2 is a bond with lvl3 and you only pay 1 to early place the lvl 3,but that not all the lvl 3 pay 1 to put another copy of itself on stage,with the cx combo which reduced the damage done by on your opp attack....back to editing

In the manga, Kill-Vearn says Hadlar’s technique has the same force as the magic sword (the spell+sword combo Dai first uses against Hyunckel). This reference was perhaps seen as too much of a deep cut (so to speak), so in the anime he just says that it magnifies Hadlar’s power
