Well, an hour and 15 minutes in, it’s a kind of a smudgy mess and the figure at the bottom is PANTS.
But it’s finished. I did it. A picture with a background.

First major drawing of 2020: my axolotl character, Axie! I've been struggling with the coloring, shading, making lineart (thus is why I just cleaned up and left the sketch), and deciding on the background. But here it finally is!

Wanted to change things up with this one by trying a horizontal format with a dark background. I needed a big light source and what better creature to be drawn to it than a giant moth with stained glass wings!
(note to self: those took waaay longer to figure out than expected)

I want to make illustrations with more typography involved in the background. Had a lot of fun with this and also better understanding lights and shadows in gray scale.

Another YCH auction result for Mobian, this time with an extra character and a background. Who wouldn't want a huge inflatable pony to hug and float around on the water?

Playing with contrasts to help frame the image and guide the eye to certain points.

Maybe a bit too much emphasis on the deer.
Should up the contrast between Cuke and his background.
Still don't know if the focus should be on the Goddess(WIP) or on Cuke. 🤔
