This is what I mean by hand-drawn btw. I remember even being impressed that each game gave Mario and Luigi slightly different color palettes based off the artwork and sprites of the original games.
For comparison, a normal style sprite of mine (15 dollar) is 2200 pesos, that's barely enough to eat for a week for most of us.
