Detective Conan: an anime that has been airing since January 1996.

Even considering broadcast breaks, it should (in theory) by the end of 2021 have had 1248-1300 episodes. It had 1032. It's 215+ episodes "behind".

Why is that? Simple, they don't air the show every single week!
