Nightscream had some neat ideas but by attempting to evoke a John Connor-type handsome teen and a hunched-vampire-monster simultaneously nether target gets hit. The monster parts turn the teen features grotesque, the teen features make the monster parts seem wimpy/goofy.

Aside from Being off-model, I feel like most issues stem from the fact that Bowser's battle sprites are based on Paper Jam's.

Bowser's stance is very hunched over in his BISDX battle stance.
Meanwhile his overworld stance is much closer to his original battle stance.
