im taking this online class on victorian films rn and i just found out that they used to have colored films back then! all frames were hand-painted. the technique eventually went out of fashion when stencil coloring was introduced around the 1900's

I tried a different coloring style and made it look painted. I used a lot of desaturated colors too so I think this is how I'll be coloring from now on.

-Added warm shadows again.
-Warmed some of the background and eyes, for tonal accuracy.
-Subtle tweaks here, eyes lowered and hair painted.
-Slight shifts in the face, filling in the background and setting up for details by cleaning the face first.

Sadly said goodbye to my auntie Jill today. She always was the loudest supporter of my artistic side. Her dream was that I’d one day get a job doing something artsy. I wouldn’t be where I am without that belief in a kid who painted. We both loved Snoopy. X ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Back tomorrow.
