I tried implementing the Masking Technique that's commonly used by CG artists for making character sprites.

Took about 6 hours to just analyse, and I still am unsure if I understand it all.

But atleast the skin looks nicer than what I usually draw.

Asriel is taller than Chara on the sepia scenes, but smaller on the overworld sprites.
It's possible that due to how Boss Monsters age, that Chara was able to become taller than Asriel during the time they lived with the Dreemurrs.
Maybe Chara is just fucked up like that.

It took me absolutely years to find out how they did three characters like that. I thought for sure they must be all sprites. Making one out of characters seemed like it would take up so much extra RAM. Surely that would never be done. 😋
