STATUES OF GRINNING CATS
Said to be modeled after a still living survivor of the Dragon War. Bone carvings of a cat with Ruby Eyes and Amethyst horns. Found in a Chamber at the base of a mountain, Some say solving their puzzle and praying will give passage to the Reaper World...

HISUIAN ARCANINE

Or what I hope/think It could look like! My take is based on shisa/foo/haetae dog statues. I saw some statues with almost horn-like structures and it looked so cool I incorporated them into my design. 🔥

a tiny contribution for 😾

ft a small fxmq bonus where feng xin goes stealth mode after a long day of carving a few horrendous statues of our beloved general xuan zhen 🥸🗿

I’m definitely getting this growlithe because this version is based on the Okinawa’s mythical island guardian, the Shisa dogs, like there were statues of them everywhere on the island and I even have a set of them (still looking for them TnT)

Apple Bloom: Good morning, ev'rypony. We look forward to having more visitors at the Sanctuary of Harmony.

Sweetie Belle: I can't believe how fast 3 years had passed for us. That's how long we've been statues of stone.

Scootaloo: We all hope you'll have a great day today.

Les 5 statues du Sanctuaire, et une question que tout le monde se pose : Dans quel camp il joue Atlan, c'est quoi ces cachoteries ? 👑🙏

It's Meteora's coronation day as the new Princess of Darkness, so she is wearing the traditional clothing of the size shifter tribe (as seen in Monster Temple statues). Eclipsa isn't amused tough, which Globgor doesn't understand.

Hisuian Growlithe is likely inspired by Komainu (狛犬), mythic guardian lions from Buddhist cosmology that often protect the entrances to temples and shrines in the form of statues. Awesome design! I love it!

The Hisuian Growlithe statues, a common protective symbol in the Sinnoh region

repost! Remember the "Who's That Big Man?" FatT zine? I loved drawing an Ashen dressed in fashion based on marble statues for one of the postcard designs. Still one of my favourite things I've ever drawn

Hisuian Growlithe pair based on Shishi, or Fu/foo dogs. I know that they’re really based on Komainu statues but this is a personal project ^^

Alma-Tadema il faisait souvent des statues toutes blanches ok mais il arrive quand même à créer ces très belles ambiances antiques avec des peintures murales colorées

ヒスイのガーディ!ちょっと沖縄の狛犬っぽいね。Hisuian Growlithe! You kinda remind of the Okinawa statues buddy.#PokemonLegendsArceus

Hisuian Growlithe is such a good design. It takes clear direction from growlithe's original inspiration in both design and typing (Komainu/Shisa; lion-dog statues) It also just fits in really well with the sinnoh Pokedex aesthetic? All around good boy. First regional I'm sold on.

- Hisuian Arcanine 2.0-

Alternate scheme or now that I think about it > Shinny ✨

I simply flipped its colors around for a more Komainu vibe. Traditionally, the statues tend to have red lines for eye lids and lips so yeah…

after that Pokemon Presents, Hisuian Arcanine inspired by komainu statues has taken over my MIND

Caninos a également droit a une forme régionale de Hisui de type Feu/Roche dont le design s'inspire des Komainu (pas sûr du nom) statues gardiennes que l'on retrouve dans les sanctuaires Shintoïstes
