Designed a pokemon rival character. Jackie represents the classic player, in that non damaging moves are for nerds so she only uses damaging attacks. She also gets annoyed whenever you go off on some story tangent instead of fighting her in the gym challenge

For my shader, I use the tangent node with the UV map as the controller, then a fresnel node. It gives me a horizontal line (UV-wise) that I multiply with my hair texture.
