This might not be 100% accurate because this example of a 17th century maid is Flemish, not English, and is from 1650 (but at the time fashion didn't change very rapidly). You can see that the silhouette and style is totally different from what Giselle is depicted wearing

Sometimes I surprise myself how bad I'm at this whole art thing.
How did I manage to mangle Giselle's face so badly?
