First, you got the Goons of Goon Valley/Island. These are the Goons you usually see in the comic strips and cartoons - the ones first introduced by Segar in the 30s. Alice was their leader when Popeye met them.

Unlike the Fleischer Cartoons, they were very peaceful and friendly.

back when freddy & mary were a romantic thing in pre-n52, it's really cute how freddy usually had multiple women by his side but they made fun of him due to his disability and mary was the only one who really comforted him & made him feel better about himself
