thinking about small figures again. Share how you simplify drawing smaller figures or people at a distance!

mine go from having dot eyes to just a curved line for a nose. In profile i just draw sort of a wedge to indicate a nose? but don't bother with lips etc. And mitten hands.

The Arches rag is mounted on a block and won’t wrinkle even with a lot of water. It’s expensive, so I don’t use it for everything. I have smaller block 9 x 12 for less complex scenes. This watercolour with a little acrylic white drybrushed to push out the white haze.
