A brief sketch testing out gradient mapping on grayscale. I definitely need more practice with it. Though it's definitely easier than individually picking out each colored shade and hoping for the best.

Someone asked me the RGB values of Shampoo's hair in my pictures. But nowadays I almost always apply a layer on top of it to give it a unique pinkish highlight gradient.
But the default colors of her hair (picked from an animation cel) are:
Dark: 50-32-168
Light: 126-103-212

Some gradient map tests i did and one i did the line art for and colored (sloppily) just cause I wanted to. I really like sketchy aesthetics, super cool. I just feel like i lose a lot when i do line art.

Hmm my style is defo developing still. Traditionally I like watching watercolours swirl and mix and gradients 😩👌... digitally I like the traditional sketchy look with washed-out soft colours 😊
