wonder if people can tell that whenever I’m slower with updates than usual it’s almost always because granblue is having another rise of beasts/unite & fight hell combo. anyway mhxa is definitely the type to get super heatstroke cause she refused to compromise her goth aesthetic

PIVOTS.
Mixed media on canvas board.
40cm x 50cm.

Enjoyed every minute creating this piece! I love the use of shapes and lines combined with a flurry of wild brushstrokes and splashes.

2004 vs 2019

Better shadows/highlights and color saturation. Sharper strokes too. Same style with a technique that evolved over the years.

Repost of fixed some errors I saw later on and added a stroke cause why not, negative space feels good.

the brushstrokes are a little crude, but I can always refine later or draw it again :D it's UV, a new space dragon who consumes stellar remnants (and sometimes stars in the process) to power wormhole induction.

ok so there's a lotta stuff goin on there. lemme see
-flat colours have some texture on em
-there's an overlay layer ontop with a brighter orangeish-yellow with quick strokes that are erased with the same brush
-a LOTTA post processing put on top haha

I wasn't feeling how Fabrizio Fidrentino has Deathstrokes eyes showing at first but man do I like these reaction shots.
It kind of reminds me of Slade in the cartoon.

I started hating it as soon as i added the base color, but two strokes later and I was loving it more every second i painted the next stroke.

The rough brushstrokes that make up the background allow attention to be directed to the birds and their minuscule riders.
