as for Evil Ryu, I think he's primarily popular among casuals. They like him because he's edgy and badass, not because of the moveset tweaks vs regular Ryu.

So I would just make him a costume. Go the extra mile so it changes his win quotes and stuff too, people WILL buy it.

Makoto, Q, Dudley, Evil Ryu, Fei Long, and Guy are the top 6 most requested characters who haven't made it into SF5 yet, so I figured I'd be sure to include them in SF6. Get a lot of them in the starting roster, too. And they fit in with the post-SF3 setting.

I explained why each of these fighters is likely/unlikely to make it into SF6 in that other thread, so I'll just quickly run down why I chose them here.

Ryu, Chun, Blanka, Zangief, Guile, Ken, Cammy - these are iconic SF2 characters and people get mad when they aren't there.

Suzaku Akai's cat (nickname: Nyako; full name: Nyanki)
Hideo Akuno's 2 Doberman
Ryu Kimura's Chihuahua (John)
Ren Kizaki & Takeru Taiga's stray cat (Ren named it Haou which means "overlord" while Takeru named it Champ. They always fight over the cat's name)

Ryu: I love and trust no one.
Haru: makes a happy little family with Ryu and Yufumi
Haru: overwrites some of Ryu's trauma with love and care when they're intimate
Haru: gives Ryu a new reason to live and hope for the future
