I have now re-framed the entire cover and added a titel. As I finished the cover earlier I realized that with the size it'll have once published, it is so much smaller that the characters would hardly be visible.

Tl;dr! Talk to artists (despite popularity) like regular people, ask them for help and how they think they would tweak it to make it look more natural, and keep working from there. Artists are always hoping to help smaller artists grow, I guarantee it!
