Abec uses cel shading in his illustrations and so does the anime while the scenery is still very pretty. this is necessary for our SAO game. Granted the shading in BoTW may be a bit... INTENSE... So I think it should be toned down and use less contrast.
Here's a great example of our workflow with Sally McRally from VHR.
@dreampathos comes up with a concept, makes a quick sketch with ink. Usually very small to limit unnecessary details.
@pixeldewd creates a sprite based off of the sketch, boom!
