Not a guide update (well, not tonight, anyway). The Crystal Resolve War-Steed cosmetics dye pretty well.

For the plate armour, it's the edges that take the dye. The caparison is more generous and the material behind the Crystal pattern dyes.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in! Sounds like you might need either a steeper curve at the back end of the sleeve pattern, or a gusset in the underarm! If most of the fabric is located at the sleeve cap, the armscye at the underarm might get too tight if not compensated for :>
