Abec uses cel shading in his illustrations and so does the anime while the scenery is still very pretty. this is necessary for our SAO game. Granted the shading in BoTW may be a bit... INTENSE... So I think it should be toned down and use less contrast.
Here's a great example of our workflow with Sally McRally from VHR.
@dreampathos comes up with a concept, makes a quick sketch with ink. Usually very small to limit unnecessary details.
@pixeldewd creates a sprite based off of the sketch, boom!

I've recently picked up Yoga again and it's been slightly therapeutic for me. We do this in a hot room so a shower is always necessary. Of course gotta take a shower afterwards 💦
I've finally also got around to doing an underwear alt of it so that the full fur pattern can be shown if necessary (also cause fatties in undies are always good)
Plus a natural color version of both because fun fact: his teal /blue fur color is actually from his fur being dyed!
