you can apply them in order to change the colors of a picture! here’s the before and the after (I usually turn the opacity down a lot + set the gradient map as an overlay, like in the 3rd pic. I used a different gradient map for the third pic than in 2nd but yeah)

complementary colors are blue/orange; purple/yellow and red/green. depending on what mood youre trying to create you can use whichever shades or tints of these to make colors pop. this same theory with complementary colors applies to overlays too! (below is red/green overlay)

thank u anon!!! and i struggle with colors a lot too. i depend a lot on overlays and other color effects to make my colors more interesting, but when in doubt, fall back on the basics. when im interested in creating depth, i will shade with complementary colors.

OBS合成で十分な気がしてきたｗ
後は自分で画面が見えない点は、XSOverlay使えば見えるしね～。そのままデスクトップも操作できる。XSOverlayすばらしや～

HAHA FAIR to dip your toes in i would suggest doing this for a while!! shade with all one fairly saturated color and then set the shade layer to multiply and adjust the opacity, and play around with overlays if you like too, don't be afraid to try all the colors on the wheel lol

It's super interesting hearing ya'll's processes a bit bc it's different than mine but we are all aiming for similar styles, ya know? For cel style work, it's usually a bunch of multiply layers, overlays, screens, and using layers as selection masks etc
