well Im not a 2d artist or chracter designer not to be rude but who ever designed this has no idea what a cat looks like. it looks nothing like a cat. its head is too big and it doesn't even have a tail or mouth. just a tip but cat noses are usually pink not yellow no offense

Next, this is a neat tip i picked up from coloring pictures of sketches

If you color a base thats darker brown like sketch paper, you can use an Overlay Layer for your skin tones and edit opacity to make it neat.

U can just skip this step for weird ass skin tones (extra fun!)

Tip: When designing, try to not think of it as a single piece, but more a serie of designs following the same recipe/rules. It helps becoming more creative and come up with many variations, also helps not stressing too much over things you don't get quite right.
