Gas Giants
A3 markers, pencils, pastels
A pod of purrgils slumber in the clouds of a gaseous moon orbiting a gas giant. They are illuminated by a nearby ice moon.
Done for fun after seeing purrgils in the new Mando series. This was inspired by images sleeping sperm whales.
The finished product to another com I finished for @ only3nines on insta and their oc!! :DD it took me a little while to get this out to them but I’m so happy with the final product!! The colors are a little darker than I wanted but all in all I think it looks good!!

Does this fake night time effect look convincing enough? I can't make it any darker without effecting visibility.
less saturated colors were shaded with darker desaturated *neutral colors
and then saturated tones were used as transition colors.
the lips are very saturated so no transition color was used. instead, a dark color slightly at the saturated spectrum is used as ambient occlusion?

Seriously, what was I thinking uploading the earlier version? I really should take a day between finishing and uploading to catch these mistakes, but I just get too impatient.
I try to start from a darker base color but it can backfire like this.
Adding on to this slightly, asian people also tan really easily
My skin colour changes depending on how much sun exposure I get consistently in a period of time

Zorga Masques is really good, like really good. 20K to front row just for going second. The columns with this guy are going to be really scary. An 8k g1 is now 32k from marker and zorga.
