This is my OC named Joi. She used to be a personal assistant AI, but her user forced her into a biological body to make her his "personal" assistant. She killed him and now she's on the run. In the world she exists in, self-aware AI are illegal so she will be killed if caught.

I would say it's the fault of "comedy and satire" too.

I see western cartoon still have strong roots on making character ugly on purpose to laugh at it. Beanhead, big mouth, huge noses are a logical conclusion.
