Please check out @omar_film! Omar's Film School is an informal school formed by Rohingya refugees, and they provided the english anecdotes and recording. Thank you so much for your work.
Some of the most impactful parts of the story, I think, are the refugees' interviews. To hear not only their experiences, but their own hopes for their lives and futures. I remember being struck by Shamsun's story about the time she arrived at the Aceh shores, how vivid it felt.
It was really important for us (and UNHCR also told us this beforehand) to depict the strength and resilience of these refugees, even in dangerous and helpless situations. We want to get people to care and help, but not exactly in a "tugging heartstrings" way.
Proud to release a limited editioned archival print of my oil painting Dove II to support the @NJP_Au campaign seeking justice in the courts on behalf 50 refugees & asylum seekers negligently treated under the Govt's offshore processing policy. 1/2 Go to: https://t.co/vnIbamngwC
#AVeryVietDecember Day 8 goes to @MsThiBui! Her illustrated memoir, #TheBestWeCouldDo, is one of my favorite books. Her storytelling style and illustrations are so beautifully crafted together; truly a powerful narrative of one #VietnameseAmerican refugee experience.

@albinokid Tamasin (on the left) is my L.10 Human Life Cleric. I've been playing her for 2+ years & she's my anxious, awkward squish-baby. Game is on Covid-hold, so in the meantime I'm playing Moth, a half-elf, feywild refugee, L.4 Dreams Druid with one level of Warlock. (The art is by me)
❤️ @thebrownhijabi delivered free online poetry workshops for refugees and asylum seekers. we then commissioned Suhaiymah to write An Island of Sirens in response, as well as commissioning artist @AlaaAlsaraji to illustrate a video to accompany the poem.

I got to be part of the last @secret7s show this year which raised loads of money for refugee charity @chooselove! The show raised £134,000 which is ace. I chose to draw Come Over by The Internet which is all about the mix of feeling nervous and excited over a crush 🌷
I’ve got 14 calendars left for 2021. Great quality, lovely gifts and a donation is made to @RWoBristol for each one (£5 - approx 50% of profit).
