the good part of doing this box modeling is that you can duplicate and easily do all the fancy stuff you want for the high poly: extrudes, leather straps, rope textures, etc
bevel every edge that you want to be hard, use the Smooth command et voila! beautiful high poly (11/24)

Painting the Suzuki I tried to make a texture and I used the semitone + gaussian blur and I liked it.
In fact I think it works quite well for clothes or maybe shading.
Here you have two foxes, one sad and other happy. One with clothes and textures, other without them.
