istg. it really isn't that hard, this took me less than a minute to adjust so that it didn't look whitewashed. it's not even that, if you're going to use a pink filter, use it on the whole damn drawing and not just the skin? it's not that hard

So what some artists will do is lighten the hard light colors some more to avoid having a muddy saturated mess, and what we get next is.... this. Like, technically its a skin tone but we've whitewashed her a bit and we've lost the original value

Again its one thing if it were something else like anatomy, but ppl whitewashing has been so ingrained in pastel artist's circles that yeah my black ass has a problem with it. Dark skin looks so beautiful with pastels, it adds an extra element of serenity

Yeah for real, the very few have been really nice.

Y’shtola, Vann and Tidus are darker skinned, but thier Dissidia models really whitewashes them for some reason :/
