One of the biggest influences on MGDF's tone was the Symphogear series. While not a magical girl series in the traditional sense, it shares a lot of the hallmarks, & greatly inspired my story's tone & blend of high concept action beats & heartfelt cute character moments.

It has some flaws, but it has become a guilty pleasure of mine.
Definitely 1 of the most unique franchises imo. It influenced me to check out Persona 5, PSO2, and got me excited to read the books. It even helped me become a better writer.

I was looking at some Dan DeCarlo art and noticing how similar his style is to Bill Ward's.Funny considering they were born in the same year,1919.Same with Bill Wenzel who has a similar style and was born in 1918.I'm sure Bruce Timm drew influence from these guys.
