Another One Week Portrait with Paintable has begun so I'm sharing my Day 1 (sketch) and Day 2 (basic, other 5 variations and the one variation I think I'll go with) :)

starting with trying to recreate the basic feel of the concept i'd made, and hitting the 4 beats.
this is very rough at this stage, and the textures can be as polished as you like. but i always go fast as hell until i start getting the feel i like.

Mapping out the lighting before I move on with this piece. A LOT of the times, the most common question I get on how to get better involves "style" in one way or the other. Every single time, the answer is the same. Practice mannequins, basic shapes and shape insertions.
These two are going to be paired together (no not romantic styles) and I just need to create his character sheet now.
Trying really hard not to make him basically Gamzee but I feel like I'm failing.
