Diana is a homunculus.
That means a clay being turned to human flesh.
As opposed to a golem, which is a clay being animated but stays clay.
That's one of the most unique origins in comics, and it's a mistake to throw that away. Gives her a unique perspective.

One of the amazing things @79SemiFinalist did to Carol was giving her a half-sister. Carol always thought she was alone in this world, specially after her mom died. Lauri-ell, gave Carol a new life perspective and spread true amazing possibilities that @mstohl created in ‘Life’.
