2010 vs2019. Actually I started digital art at the end of the2009, so that drawing was my very first tries to work with a digital pen and photoshop. Clearly I didn’t even know about pen pressure 😂I think I had some progress at least🤔

don't have any digital art from 2009, and all my old sketchbooks are lost to time, so here's some time in 2012 vs 3 months ago

A couple pieces from late 2008/early 2009, and one from 2019.
I still abuse textures... my unifying aspect...
Though I AM happy to see other signs of progress even though I don't draw as much as I could @

I feel like I should have learned a lot more since I first tried digital art back in 2009, but hopefully the next update in 2029 will be better :D

the first one may be from before 2009, (best guess is at age 7) it doesn’t have a date, but regardless I was really happy to see this improvement ^^ it was also nice to reinterpret the view in my younger self’s mind ^^ onwards to 2020!!

I hardly have any scanned art from 2009, I suppose I was busy at university. I remember having prints of 's art all over my studio space. I'm still not quite on his level, but I can paint without ink lineart now!

I’ve only been doing digital art for 6 years so I can’t do a comparison with that so here’s a drawing of Leighton 2009, a drawing of the mad hatter from 2012, and a couple of digital artworks from when I started, to most recent from this year a koala

Couldn’t find something from 2009, but it seems I’ve always enjoyed drawing boys more haha

In 2009, I was 22 and I had just gotten my first picture book job.
I worried that it was a fluke, that after this one book, I might not get any more book work.

quick redraw!! back in may 2009, i started a webcomic for a story i had been working on since the late 90's, which i have kind of neglected lately ;;; figured it was a good subject for this meme tho. 🙈

I wasn't "seriously" drawing in 2009, and only started really trying to learn in high school. I don't really think of myself as one of those "I've been drawing since I could pick up a pencil" people.

Still, this is more progress than I expected. Much farther to go.

Digging through my tumblr I found I've always been a little emo ...then again, should be obvious if I had a tumblr 😅
I couldn't find the square boys I used to draw in 2009, but here is a close thing.

2009 vs. 2019. In 2009, I graduated from college with a fine arts degree, thinking I would make art for galleries (lol). Now, I'm working for a comic publisher & my first graphic novel came out this year. Life is a wild ride. (PS, 2019 me is more openly a weeaboo, example below).

I don't have a lot of art to hand that I did in 2009, I did a lot of eyeballing cartoon stills etc.
I like to think I've improved, even though I'm still shit at anatomy, and I would love to draw as much as I used to but..

I tried to find something from 2009, but the closest I could get was 2013 (i'll have to do this again in 2023 !!)
