It seems Style S works with upscaling as long as inlines and outlines stand out well, so the filter won't melt/blend stuff.

Cybop’s and Prismatic Cybop’s shadows are way too small. Also the mouth of Prismatic Cybop should of probably just been just had outlines for teeth, because they look really off compared with the body imo.

We did use grease pencil for the outline around Copper's eyes in an early version of the model, but now his eyes are made entirely with shaders and geometry with black outlines

Yes, getting a more anime shaded 3D model is tricky but there are many ways to make 3D look 2D such as normal editing, textures, colors, outlines, the mesh, physics type, post processing and so on. I try to emulate 2D on my 3D model using those guidelines and they help!

it's super fascinating looking at Takeuchi's personal art and comparing it to the key art for the games. like you can really tell that he excels at softer looser art, but has trouble condensing that into bold defined outlines and colours
