There actually are subtle but noticeable differences in how Impa and Paya are designed.

Longer hair, different sized face paint, different sleeves and leggings, Impa definitely looks more like she’s equipped for combat.

But now I've been checking out "The Settlers." Which is an excellent wee medieval Sim City-ish game, with more of a focus on roads, mines, and a little combat. The DOS version, though lacking the music I love, has used the extra colours and resolution well. (Amiga then DOS pics.)

Since Rue uses his own body for weapons and armor, he's got jack shit for ranged combat, or for taking on multiple enemies. He's best suited for 1v1 melee combat. He works really well in a team, but personality wise he's not great with people.
