Next is the color palette! The Zandalari on the left uses desaturated colors in the background to pull the focus towards the reds and golds on her figure. On this older Sailor Moon piece, the same saturated, candy colors are used throughout and it doesn't feel nearly as focused.

It seems it is a desaturation, but it's not uniform. It's like the greens are much more desaturated than the reds... I tried desaturaring in photoshop and here's the difference: (Above is the second picture, desaturated in photoshop; below is the adaptive render. )

the colour on this new laptop... it's bad... i've adjusted it as best i can and i think i will get used to it, but right now everything looks so desaturated, especially reds
