There waqs foreshadowing though. There is an entire panel in the 2016 "Reflections" comic that shows Soldier sitting across from Ana while he gazes longingly at a picture of him and his ex boyfriend. This just wasn't explained in detail until 3 years later when it made sense. 🤗
