Did you ever play the old Battle Arena Toshinden games on the PS1/Saturn? There were 4 main games and then some variations of them, seemed like the franchise sort of died, I think 1-3 released everywhere, 4 was only in EU/JP and the oddball one on the Wii in JP named Toshinden
