I shit on my work too much but I’ve really made stylistic improvements and have gotten better in the last year.
my faces started looking a bit flat to me, so i tried to remind myself how real ones look like.

Stylistically this reminds me somewhat of Giger, but with the flat perspective and multifaceted storytelling of Bosch. Twitter does the dirty on super complex images like this, so here are some details:
Came up with the original concept last year, it was initially more technical with a dynamic perspective, but I ended up struggling with it a bit and more importantly the result wasn't very interesting stylistically, so I changed it to something I'm more comfortable with
For example, I created these two based on the same sketch- of course shading style effects form too so this isn't a perfect showcase of stylistic differences, but specifically shading differences.
