As I remember, when I started playing brawl stars I would ship Colt with Shelly and Piper too but then I got real that I was much more suited to Rico than Colt Because a lot of people would ship and make animations of Piper and Rico. Then I started to ship them but i respect.👍.

I mean, I assume the fact that it's a remake at all meant they had not much budget, so likely not enough for a Switch remake.
Also, in my opinion, I feel like some animations and expressions wouldn't work as well in 3D as 2D, unless they did a lot of model swap trickery.
