Tonight's next coat of violet red was painted on the back of the spoonbill and under the wing. It's a large section of various shades of deep violet red, medium red, and darker violet reds that have a hint of deep blue.

Wasn't happy with this a week ago, I wanted to hurry up and finish it so I wouldn't have to look at it again but I think it's salvaged. I just have a few adjustments to make now. Amazing what a splash of red can do!
