As a boy I was amazed at the work of Alan Sorrell. His reconstruction of Dirleton was the first image of its kind I ever saw. So I copied his techinque of boxing views a section at a time. I used (8 pence) Postcard images in 1981 then scaled up to A3 size (Tantallon example)

Oh hold up, found another vulture tree. This one had two!

Oh, and levels aren't one continuous screen. After this point, I reached the end of the screen, then it faded out and faded back in to the section with the wind storm.

Pssst. Nielsen from way back with Life from the Loam. Photo by Shaun O'Boyle. I see some people popping into the thread about Felix while asking Nielsen to come back. No. This photo was super well known in the urban exploration section of Concept Art back in 2006.

The first section should be out at the end of April or at worst case mid-May, and may be slow to update because one person and life ya know, but stick around for updates if you're interested, I should also turn this into a thread for sketches and information too.

From start of Feb to March 31st these have been my attempts at using no line art
First - NO IDEA what I was doing
Second - started but quickly got overwhelmed
Third - painted over sketch in sections
Fourth - flat colours - completely removed sketch - added detail on top

2/2 in this month's Ekphrastic Review, and first outing for part of Thetis, a retelling of the Trojan War through the eyes of the mother of Achilles. This section is about the death of Hector and was inspired by the Peter Paul Rubens painting.
