Shading.... combos?
I usually use a brown-lavander-greyish color on a multiply layer, then use 1-2 more multiply layers to darken specific parts, play around with opacity. I’m terrible at highlights so I used a clipped add layer (gold) on the flat colors

I think it looks very good! Maybe the only problem is that highlights might be too straight? Like, if you give them a more curved line it'll look more like it's reflecting light on a roundish head (I don't know if I'm explaining it well ;;;) ->

I’ll always prefer grey/ white highlights. I still love blue highlights to death, but it’ll always be just a bit under grey for me at least. Like, doesn’t that look more intimidating?

White/grey just makes more sense when highlighting black. I know the blue highlights are iconic but it’s gotta be said.
