Here are the pencils and initial colors for a Bane pinup from The Animated Series.

I went with a watercolor Batman shadow in the background. And I quickly realized watercolors are not easy to use.

So here's an interesting change: While several lines of Takuma and Kamui's initial argumetns and suspicion were kept, the anime actually cuts out a lot more of Kamui's colder dialogue and jumps right to their fighting. It changes the tone a bit, making Kamui seem a bit twitchier.

Early concept art shows initially he would've been a Bear, coincidentally bears similarities to Flippy(no pun intended)
