Defining the nose and lips is one thing, but for me the main thing is matching diff shapes of the lips and noses to eyes to match (since I draw eyes first) as well as matching it to the head shape, while playing around with different shapes to keep things not being samey

I mostly draw in a sorta anime style but I try to round the nose or define the lips depending on the style.

I don't think I do anything particularly different, but I do make sure the noses aren't too sharp and sometimes round out the lips more.

I mostly just find coloring black skin more fun lol
